Job Description: Senior IT Consultant (Sys Admin)

This position requires a self-starting individual who can take direction, but does not require it, who also has excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of PC hardware and software and solid knowledge of Microsoft products. Responsibilities will include PC hardware/software configuration, problem determination and resolution, windows 2000/03 server systems administration and LAN/WAN maintenance. This individual must be comfortable with a variety of tasks, ranging from cabling architecture and hardware reconfiguration to network problem diagnosis. They should have the ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment and the desire to work in an information systems environment.

Professional Requirements:

Microsoft Windows based networking
MCSE or MCP – REQUIREMENT!
Windows 2000/03, Active Directory, Exchange, SBS etc.
Internet Connectivity and Security
Installation and upgrading of hardware/software
End User Productivity Tools (MS Office)
Enterprise Systems Integration – Symantec, Firewall, Terminal Services
Project Management skills using structured methodology

Key Responsibilities:

Candidates will work mainly at client locations and will be expected to market services in addition to performing technical support and training end-users in the basic use of popular software applications & hardware troubleshooting
Specification, evaluation and recommendation of hardware and software purchases
Installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades of the technical infrastructure.
Ensuring system security, data access control, physical and logical safety of the systems and data
Establishing IT standards and best practices
Building & managing IT organizational structures for small & medium sized businesses
Assist in analyzing client’s current IT infrastructure & recommending hardware/software upgrades
Assisting in pricing and ordering hardware/software i.e. Dell, Igram- Micro
Project planning
